Oyan Nazariani
Oyan Nazariani, known as "The Big Gun," is a leading figure in the world of beach wrestling. Born in Urmia, Iran, he began wrestling at age 12, inspired by his grandfather, a national champion in Azerbaijan. After years of dedication, he represented Azerbaijan as a backup member at the 2016 Rio Olympics. In 2018, he transitioned to beach wrestling, quickly mastering the sport’s unique demands. He won the 2019 Beach Wrestling World Series title in the +90kg category, dominating three of four events. In 2021, he became head coach of Azerbaijan’s beach wrestling team. Nazariani is also an instructor and organizer, actively promoting the sport worldwide. His work focuses on developing talent and expanding beach wrestling's reach. With a strong presence on and off the sand, he continues to inspire the next generation. His ultimate goal: seeing beach wrestling earn Olympic status.
