Beach Wrestling in Azerbaijan – Baku 2026

The summer of 2026 will be an unforgettable season for beach wrestling on the shores of the Caspian Sea. From August 27 to 29, Baku will host two prestigious international tournaments.

The first of these is the U17 Beach Wrestling World Championship, which will take place on August 27. This event is considered one of the final and most important tests for young athletes ahead of the Summer Olympic Games pathway in 2026. For these young wrestlers, the tournament holds special significance as an opportunity to prove themselves on the international stage and take a crucial step toward future major achievements.

Over the following two days (August 28 and 29) the fourth stage of the Beach Wrestling World Series for seniors will be held. This stage will feature high-level competition among world-class athletes, intense battles for ranking points, and dynamic matches that promise excitement for spectators.

Both events will be held in Azerbaijan for the first time, clearly demonstrating the country’s growing role and ambitious approach in the development of beach wrestling. The Azerbaijan Wrestling Federation continues to prove its commitment through consistent and purposeful efforts by hosting such prestigious competitions.

These events are not only sporting competitions but also a remarkable platform for wrestlers from all around the world to compete at the highest level. The open-air setting, the energy of the Caspian coast, and the dynamic spirit of beach wrestling will transform Baku into one of the main centers of world wrestling this summer.

We look forward to welcoming everyone to Baku at the end of August—be part of this incredible atmosphere!
