Organized by the Azerbaijan Wrestling Federation, the Azerbaijan Beach Wrestling Championship was held on July 16–17.
The tournament featured U17 boys and girls, as well as men in the senior age categories. It went down in history as the first event where female athletes competed in beach wrestling in Azerbaijan.
More than 150 wrestlers from 26 teams took part in the championship. The primary goal of the event was to expand the talent pool in beach wrestling, discover new prospects, and prepare the national team for upcoming international competitions. Among the key objectives is the 2026 Youth Olympic Games, set to take place in Dakar, Senegal.
This championship demonstrated the rapid growth of beach wrestling in Azerbaijan and laid a strong foundation for the next generation of athletes to shine on the international stage.
